Lazy Friday!!!

Today is a lazy Friday. It's cold and dreary, so we decided to stay in our p.j's for a little longer than normal. When we woke up there was dense fog through out our "valley" and you couldn't see more than 100 feet in front in front of you. It was actually a bit spooky since you couldn't see anything outside, other than just a dense fog. The fog has finally burned off and you can see all the fresh snow on the mountains. Looks like they got another snow fall last night. Here are some pictures of this morning and two from the other day.

Taylor loves looking at the "baby" in the mirror. I finally caught some images of her face while checking out "baby."

"Hi Baby!!"

This was this morning. Taylor loves her Elmo guitar. Here she is demonstrating her skills that she has learned from Mommy & Daddy playing Guitar Hero!!!

I LOVE this picture!!! What a smile/laugh/growl.

Glamour Girl!!! I was impressed that she got my sunglasses on without any assistance...and even put them on correctly!!

First Snow Fall - September 10, 2008

It's official!! The San Juan Mountains, just south of our house, has seen it's first snowfall for the year. Mt. Sneffels, which sits at 14,150 feet and the 27th largest peak in Colorado, is no longer that rugged looking peak that we looked at all summer. It is now snow covered and is a tell tale sign that winter is, unfortunately, right around the corner. The nights are certainly much cooler and the days will soon follow. This is the time of year that we love. It's not hot, it's not cold, and it makes for wonderful weather for our adventures around town. The leaves have not quite started to turn to their autumn beauty, but it won't be too much longer before we see those vibrant colors of fall. Before too long we will be heading to the pumpkin patch, Taylor's first experience at trick or treating, Chris' 2008 elk hunt, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then 2009. Can you believe it is mid September and time just keeps flying?!?! Enjoy the weekend and keep an eye out for more pictures.

Finally...A Plush Barney!!!

Today was a great day!!! We finally found a plush Barney doll and Taylor was thrilled. We were browsing the toy isle at the local Wal-Mart when out of my toddler's mouth came, "Barney, Barney!" I turned and low and behold, the beloved Barney that we have been in search of for some time now. Included was a DVD, all the more reason to buy this big purple dinosaur, right? Taylor loves her new Barney doll and DVD. And Mommy and Daddy will get to learn even more Barney tunes now!! Yeh!!!

Here Taylor is in a trance while watching her new video.

10 minutes later, still in a trance!!! Good 'ol Barney!

Giving Barney a big squeeze!

Awww, Barney!

Checking out his big purple tail!

An Artist In The Making?!?!

Taylor loves to color, so I thought I would get her a "Just Add Water Painting Book." Well, as you can see, she did really well and caught on to the concept of dipping the paint brush in the water to paint the picture. Now we spend our days coloring and painting.

Here Taylor is demonstrating how you get the paint brush wet. I was a little nervous that she would tip the glass of water over, but she did really good and was able to keep the glass full.

Loving the painting!!! What a happy girl!!

Can you see the concentration?

A Day On The Trail

Last weekend Chris decided to rent a Jeep Rubicon and take us 4-wheeling. We left bright and early, picnic lunch in tow, and we dove over Imogene Pass. It takes you from Ouray over to Telluride, and it has to be the most scenic trail in Colorado. It took 5 1/2 hours going 5 mph, had inclines of 45 degrees, and was well above tree line. It was certainly an adventurous day and we all had a lot of fun.

A picture of the Jeep with Chris ready to roll...

Taylor and all her gear. She looked like she was conducting some sort of business...lap top in one hand, cell phone in the other. Perhaps she will be a business woman?!?!

Daddy & Taylor...what a great photo!

Mommy & Taylor...girls will be girls!!

One of the many gorgeous views we saw that day.
