First Snow Fall - September 10, 2008

It's official!! The San Juan Mountains, just south of our house, has seen it's first snowfall for the year. Mt. Sneffels, which sits at 14,150 feet and the 27th largest peak in Colorado, is no longer that rugged looking peak that we looked at all summer. It is now snow covered and is a tell tale sign that winter is, unfortunately, right around the corner. The nights are certainly much cooler and the days will soon follow. This is the time of year that we love. It's not hot, it's not cold, and it makes for wonderful weather for our adventures around town. The leaves have not quite started to turn to their autumn beauty, but it won't be too much longer before we see those vibrant colors of fall. Before too long we will be heading to the pumpkin patch, Taylor's first experience at trick or treating, Chris' 2008 elk hunt, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then 2009. Can you believe it is mid September and time just keeps flying?!?! Enjoy the weekend and keep an eye out for more pictures.
